เสียงเรียกร้องจากสมาชิกให้จัดกิจกรรมอีกในเดือนเมษายน โดยจะเดินทางไปชิมกาแฟกันถึงภาคอิสาน แดนหมอแคน ขอนแก่น (ไม่แน่ใจว่าขอนแก่นเป็นแดนหมอแคนหรือเปล่า แต่เห็นเสียงพ้องจองกัน ถ้าไม่ใช่ต้องขออภัยด้วยครับ) โดยเป้าหมายหลักคือร้าน มิสเตอร์ลี ของพี่ดม และงานนี้พี่ดมอาสาเป็นไกด์นำกินตามร้านอาหารต่างๆ ในขอนแก่นที่จัดว่าเป็นสุดยอดทั้งสิ้น
อีกหลายเสียงบอกว่าจะร่วมเป็นสมาชิกได้อย่างไร ก็ขอบอกว่าเพียงสมัครเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมกับเราเพียงครั้งเดียวเท่านั้น ก็ได้ร่วมเป็นสมาชิกแล้วครับ
กำหนดการยังไม่คลอด แต่รู้คร่าวๆ ว่ารับแค่สิบคน โดยจะเหมารถตู้นำเที่ยวไปกัน อาจมีค้างคืน ไว้มีเวลาและได้สอบถามกับพี่ดมเรียบร้อยแล้วจะแจ้งให้ทราบอีกทีนึงครับ
อยากชิม Single Origin ที่ใช้เครื่อง Clover จัง

I'm not sure if there is an official distributor of Clover in Thailand or not, but there is a new coffee shop in Khon Khaen, you heard it right, not Bangkok that now sports a new Clover unit in their shop, you can check out his site at www.misterlees.com LoL !

You could notice the word "exclusive" which means current Clover out there will be among the last one to appear outside Starbucks.
I think Starbucks make a good move. It helps propel Starbucks to the forefront of coffee quality. It also cut right through the Indie cafe to shine by blocking them for accessing a Clover which allows Single Origin beans to shy.
I could hear lots in Thailand said who care about drip brew coffee. Espresso is the best way to enjoy the coffee. I am hoping that Clover would help push filtered coffee to the forefront and reduce its gap between pressured brew and filter brewed coffee. Not any more, I think. Filtered coffee will remain a step child like white wine to red wine.
I am hoping Starbuck could take further step of small batch roasting its coffee but that ain't gonna happen any time soon considering the chain size. Unless someone could come out with roaster that can do what Clover did to filtered coffee.
Just to follow up a bit, I thought I am among the very few people that kinda in to this specialty coffee that like brewed coffee more than espresso. I finally found one guy, Alistair Durie of Elysian Coffee. Here's the quote.
"As many of you know I am a brewed coffee fanatic. I don't think I would still be in coffee if it was all about espresso, my real excitement is in brewed coffee."

Mind you this guy is a Clover distributor (ex?) in Canada.
Well..I'm the one like Khun Boblam who enjoy brew coffee so now I do home roast all kind of arabica like Kenya,Ethiopia,Malawi,Columbia,Tanzania,Java,Rawanda..I do really enjoy most of them because they have their own character whic really fantastic and I change my roast every week make me never stop drinking coffee. I can not drink espresso..I mean real espresso not add milk.

I thought maybe it's just me as when I read all the coffee post, all they talked are mostly espresso and its rather fussy nature of preparing one while sidestep/brush aside brewed coffee.. You can see words like, this grind is good enough for french press, however, if you want to achieve espresso nirvana, you have to get this $$$ which is way too superior and blah blah blah...
I just begin tasting espresso and considered it a good coffee but, to me, it will not replace brewed coffee. The thing I like is its ability to 'poke' through sea of milk in milked based drink. Its unique tasting which, I like to think of it as 'in your face/front and center' is interesting. However, like I mentioned in the old board, I am not really into this kind of taste. Also, this reminds me of red vs. white wine comparison, ie white wine seemed to be the stepchild of the wine world, IMHO.

Ahh! I want to chime in, but is now caught in the roasting works. Will be back soon with another post just for this.

Maybe cutting some comment into the new post, related to Clover and Starbuck as I saw sparks fly over coffeed.com on the issue, ie the betrayal to 3rd waver
Now I'm roasting new espresso blend for Sweet Guilt shop. I call it "Timeless". It will be exclusively used in that shop. I still also doing thai arabica most of the time.
